Aloha Mai Kākou,
This deck is a tribute to “Mauka”; the maunas (mountains) that raised me, its lush vegetation, and the animals I cared for. It reflects my love for the ʻāina and shares a glimpse of life here.
Each card highlights the beauty of our native Hawaiian plants, animals, and akua (gods and goddesses). With illustrations by Chanel Keohohina-Kaaikala, the deck offers a fun way to learn over 80 words in ʻŌlelo Hawaiʻi and journey through the different parts of our prosperous ahupuaʻa.
From our ʻohana to yours, we hope you enjoy our Mauka deck as much as I loved sharing a part of my home.
